Potato
One of the products that stands out most in Montaña Alavesa is the POTATO, considered the “Queen of the Tubers”, and with good reason, it has been granted the highest food distinction possible for a Basque product: the “Quality Label“.
Cheese
You’ll find an exquisite cheese with recognition in the form of the Idiazabal designation of origin in the town of San Vicente de Arana.
Honey
The location of the Region of Montaña Alavesa makes it possible to obtain extremely high quality honey, with the distinctive “Quality Label”. You can find honey in several places: San Román de Campezo, Apellániz, Atauri and Antoñana. In this last town, there is an annual Honey Fair.
Black pudding
The towns of Maeztu and Villaverde are dedicated to the production and sale of a typical pork product: those tasty morcillas de arroz (black pudding with rice).
Bread
Master bakers have handed down their recipes for generations, bread is such a staple in our daily diet and we would like to highlight the artisanal production in a wood-fired oven that takes place in the mill at Peñacerrada.
